Reimagining tutoring
A band-aid isn’t an education.
Most tutoring stops short of offering a better kind of education. Here’s how traditional tutoring can get in the way of your learning.
Every subject in one session
Raise expectations of what you can achieve.
When every subject is on the table in every lesson, all-in-one tutoring is personalized to you by design. The flexibility of no longer having to choose between getting through the week or preparing for what’s next gives you an agency rarely found in traditional tutoring – the agency to shape your own education so you can reach higher and go farther.
In partnership with your expert tutor, you control the pace, direction, and scope of each class. You might design one session to reduce the workload for three school subjects, and another to unravel the common threads between your AP homework and an ACT question. Of course, you can always focus on just one subject, especially if a big test is around the corner.

All-in-one tutoring really comes into its own when you devote a class to hone a specific skill. A deep dive into logarithms, for instance, might surprise you with the unexpected ways the same concept translates across precalculus, biology, physics, and chemistry. By choosing to examine a skill from every angle, you ensure it stays with you through high school and into college.
All-in-one tutoring
A better way to learn.

How is all-in-one tutoring better?
Learning something new can be needlessly difficult.
Take chopsticks, for example: many tutorials overlook the surprising usefulness of applying a skill you already know – the pencil grip. Similarly, a rigid school curriculum usually doesn’t make room for students to integrate skills from other subjects to learn more effectively.
A truly personalized approach to education can be a novel experience for many students, as their tutor identifies their strengths, preferences, and challenges. But when any academic topic is on the menu, all-in-one tutoring relies on a key insight: every tool already in your learning toolbox can make new concepts more intuitive and accessible.

The upside of learning several subjects at once
With tutoring across all subjects, even the most difficult concepts can be mapped onto ideas already familiar to you. Here are some eye-opening (if high-level) examples of how your knowledge in one subject can illuminate concepts in another.
Spanish → English
If I had had is a perfectly grammatical construction in English. In Spanish, the had ‘s are easily distinguished by hubiera and tenido, each conveying distinct grammatical features: the subjunctive mood by hubiera and the perfect aspect by tenido.
World History → US History
The many causes of the American Revolution can be explained by
a) the effects of mercantilism,
b) the enlightenment, and
c) the Columbian exchange – three major forces driving European maritime empires since the 1400s.
Calculus → Physics
Work is generally given by the integral of force over a distance: W = ∫ F ⋅ dx
Knowing this, you can quickly calculate the work done from a force-distance graph by measuring the area under the force curve using your skills of graphing anti-derivatives.
Statistics → Computer Science
De Morgan’s laws from set theory can help you write more efficient conditional statements in Java.
For example, if (not a) OR (not b) can be rewritten as if not (a AND b).
That is to say, if (!a || !b) is equivalent to if !(a && b).
the curious synergy between homework and test prep
Don’t wait for gains in your coursework to trickle down to your test-taking by treating them as separate activities.
All-in-one tutoring reveals they belong to the same skill set: when you level up in AP English, you level up on the ACT, too.
test prep ⇨ school subjects
Preparing for the SAT or ACT equips you with a comprehensive set of skills that (our students can attest) are invaluable in their junior and senior-year courses. Chief among these skills are the test-taking strategies that build the confidence and self-motivation needed to ace school progress checks and AP exams.
school subjects ⇨ test prep
Top scorers on standardized tests rely on reading and writing short-hands to achieve consistent time gains. By fully integrating your school knowledge into your test-taking strategy, those gains extend to the math section – especially when cashing in on skills more advanced than what’s required.

Follow-up support
Post-session help that’s tailor-made for you
Even the most productive classes can leave questions unanswered. At times, a question extends so far beyond the scope of the class that both you and your tutor are left scratching their heads.
We welcome the challenge posed by the most inscrutable homework questions, as their solutions often reveal deeper insights that benefit not just you, but other students exploring the same topic.
If a question remains unanswered by the end of your session, you can look forward to a personalized follow-up, complete with a detailed write-up or a video explainer.
